Sauvignon Blanc originated from the well known wine region of Bordeaux France. This grape produces wine that is often referred to as dry, crisp, as well as refreshing and elegant. This wine pairs very well with Fish, Cheese, and light dishes or salads. Another great characteristic of Sauvignon Blanc is its' versatility and is often blended to produce dessert wines.
Other regions where Sauvignon Blanc grapes are grown are the Loire Valley (France), California, Chile, New Zealand, Australia, Italy, and South Africa. This grape ripens early so it is best to be grown in regions with a lot of sun but not extreme heat temperatures as it can cause the Sauvignon Blanc grape to over-ripen and product dull and acidic wines.
