Winemaker's Notes
Hope Family Wines selected Cabernet Sauvignon from six Paso Robles districts for the 2022 Austin Hope Reserve, with Geneseo and Creston serving as principal sources. A warmer-than-average season and prolonged summer heat moved harvest ahead, concentrating the character of the producer's carefully separated vineyard lots.
Daily pump-overs and monitored extended maceration preceded a demanding oak regimen, including 20 months in a split of new and once-used French barrels. The wine is full-bodied and plush, with cocoa, raspberry coulis, blueberries, olallieberry, earthy depth, savory complexity, polished tannins, and a balanced finish of dark fruit and subtle spice.
