2020 was the first time that California has been 100% drought-free since 2011. Winter and spring rains provided sufficient water in the soil through midsummer, with irrigation not starting until July. The vintage provided us with a mild growing season, and an average crop, in terms of quantity. Quality, however, remained outstanding.
The Director’s Cabernet Sauvignon greets you with aromas of toffee, espresso, and blackberry. Melted tannins and a lush, velvety midpalate reveal flavors of blackberry, cherry, cassis, and wild berry, with a hint of toasted nuts and almonds on the long, impressive finish.
This robust wine pairs well with prime rib, New York strip and filet mignon.
