Winemaker's Notes
Zesty lemon and guava lead the 2023 Frank Family Carneros Chardonnay, with vanilla and caramel-covered apple providing a richer counterpoint. Layers of nutmeg, crème brûlée and gently toasted oak follow, balanced by a fresh line of acidity and a clean, bright finish.
The wine gains depth from a long, cold fermentation, partial malolactic fermentation and regular bâtonnage during aging. Its full, creamy character is joined by notes of brioche, baking spice, candied lemon, yellow apple, lemon curd, baked pear and melon, finishing with understated oak toast.
