Description
Il Poggione's 2024 Rosso di Montalcino is a pure Sangiovese sourced from younger estate vineyards planted across elevations from 150 to 450 metres. The wine offers an approachable path into the estate's Montalcino style while retaining firm structure, individual character, and the presence expected from the appellation.
The grapes are picked by hand and fermented for 15 days in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts using a submerged cap. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for 12 months in large French oak vessels and barriques before bottle aging, bringing greater complexity and smoother tannins.
