Description
Mazer is Nino Negri's Valtellina Superiore DOCG expression of Nebbiolo, or Chiavennasca, gathered from historic vineyard areas across the alpine valley. Its name means distinguished in local dialect, an apt description for a red shaped by bright fruit, mountain freshness, and elegant tannin.
The cellar briefly dries a small share of the harvested grapes, then blends that concentrated wine back into the main lot to add dark-fruit depth and enveloping texture. Blackberry, blueberry, licorice, bay, and juniper notes lead toward a dry finish that complements roasts, game, lamb, and aged cheese.
