The Black Chicken name began as Aldo Biale's discreet party-line code for the family's Zinfandel and became a fully legal bottling in 1999. Robert Biale now builds this flagship wine around its Oak Knoll District estate vineyard, complemented by carefully selected neighboring sites across Napa Valley.
