2022 Vintage Profile
The archived 2022 wine showed blackberry, red cherry, leather, cedar, peppercorn and vanilla aromas. Dark plum, strawberry, toasted nut and cocoa-powder notes followed on the palate, giving that vintage a rich Napa Valley character suited to grilled meats, roasted vegetables and aged cheeses.
For the earlier vintage, Sequoia Grove combined estate and grower fruit from Napa Valley, including its Rutherford properties. The cellar approach included hand sorting, a short cold soak, small-lot fermentation, barrel malolactic fermentation and extended oak maturation, with the resulting Cabernet built around dark fruit and structure.

James Suckling: 92 points. The retained review referenced blueberry, blackberry, cherry, chocolate and vanilla. Jeb Dunnuck: 90 points. His explicitly 2022 review highlighted plum, dark berries, spice, savory herbs, ripe tannins and a long finish.
